The trio work the ballad into a haunting memory piece, with steel and electric guitars providing the punctuated riffs.
Their music was so influential to us that having the chance to come in and bounce ideas off the guys and sing with them in the studio was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. It felt like we just got comfortable around each other, so we were really able to kill it. The collaboration keeping me awake at night was My Maria. Combs has the voice made for these songs. The musical treatment of it, though, is too modern with what sounds like electronic drum beats spoiling it, which is true elsewhere. One thing is for sure, the steel guitar remains. Some go out on limbs more than others.

It would have been interesting to see how a female singer handled a duet. MacBryde keeps it far more traditional. They quite simply paved the way for Sugarland, Florida Georgia Line, High Valley, Dan + Shay and the Brothers we revere as Osborne the most spine-tingling collaboration on Reboot?
