The 2010 update is extensive and rectifies the road noise and turning circle shortcomings of the original car. Many have said it happens when the outside temp gets above mid-80's. This is dangerous as I was lucky not to have been rear-ended by the 18 wheeler behind me at the time my transmission failed on the bridge!. The recall began on July 21, 2015. Could they have really put in the wrong fluid in again, especially after I came in to replace an already botched fluid replacement? If you change it later after say 100k, all you do is take out the thicker liquid that was holding your seals shut and replace it with thinner liquid which will bypass the seals and ruin your tranny. Replacing the seal isn't an option, as the new seal will also leak.
And keep all of your paperwork on file in case a transmission problem later develops. First visit to Ford, it was not fixed. Ford Motor Company Ford is recalling certain model year 2011-2012 Ford Fusion vehicles without a 3. Owners may contact Ford's customer service at 1-800-392-3673. Most dealer techs aren't going to waste their time connecting up diagnostic equipment such as a scope and spend hours trying to figure something like that out. Fuel tank had previously corroded at seam and started leaking as well.
Eventually the car started knocking and bouncing while driving. Full heat stayed on 100% of the time. Ford would not provide me with a loaner car as I bought the vehicle used and therefore no rental coverage even though the issue was a known issue due to faulty parts and a poor initial repair by Ford. These repairs will be performed free of charge. Ford appears to have reprogrammed the computer to change shift points.
Looks like now I'll have to put in a new transmission. Far earlier than normal wear. Seems same problem exists across the smaller ford cars and say's nothing is being done about it!! I can not understand why the government would allow Ford to screw the public on a major repair. I am currently waiting on approvals from my extended warranty company to complete the needed repairs. I only found this out after going there, so yes I agree that it was a bad idea to do anything other than an oil change there.
No other issues, until the car started jolting, pulled off the highway, and the car would not move forward or backward. Changed and had brakes checked only to find out the rear calipers were seized and needed replacement. The required parts were on backorder at Ford and we had to wait for parts. It is rusty looking now and one of the tag lights is loose. I am very upset that I will have to buy another car due to not feeling safe. Was out of warranty by one month bought June 2011, service July 2014. To empty this water, I have to open the trunk to let it pour out.
After all, they made the car. The normal maintenance schedule only calls for inspecting the transmission fluid levels, and does not call for replacing the transmission fluid until 150K miles? I was able to locate a Ford dealership on the turnpike where I could leave the car for the necessary repairs. The first year that I purchased the vehicle I went to Bill Collins Ford service department more than twice about the transmission, each time the service employee dismissed my concerns stating it was the new type of transmission in the car. Ford mailed interim letters informing owners that parts are not yet available on July 15, 2016. The power steering went bad in Dec. Unless you only drive coast to coast at moderate speed, it is highly unlikely that the transmission will make it to 150,000 miles in normal traffic without any fluid changes. Either do it every 30k or don't do it at all ever and fix it when it breaks.
They did the flush, but when I got the receipt, again the wrong fluid number was on there! Instead they expect hard working americans to pay out of pocket for their mess up. I have been in a very frustrating situation the past few days, and would like some piece of mind. Then it happened - the transmission went completely on I65 North with no warning! After about a year I started noticing the car lurching or jumping forward when I would slow down or speed up. In the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front air bags, these inflators may rupture due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to absolute humidity and temperature cycling. Ford's number for this recall is 15S34.
There is no harm going back and asking again to confirm though. Took the vehicle to Ford to be diagnosed and mechanic stated that a bushel needed to be added to the transmission and the seal needed to be replaced. The accelerator pedal became unresponsive. I tried to start the engine to record the mileage and the engine would not run, acting as if the timing was completely out of sync. From my google searches it seems that a lot of people say it will kill my transmission and others say if I don't it will kill my transmission.
Ford Motor Company Ford is recalling certain model year 2010-2011 Ford Fusion vehicles manufactured July 21, 2008, to March 4, 2011, and 2010-2011 Mercury Milan vehicles manufactured July 23, 2008, to December 10, 2010. Ford helped with about 60% of the cost. Lf cv axel seal was leaking. But because of their lack of experience, they must be monitored constantly to insure that they do the job completely. I am being told this is required to maintain my warranty.
