Recall Date 2012-08-10 Description This recall involves aftermarket parts sold by Valeo. It's a sweetheart on the road when everything's ok with the car. Go over 50 large and a psychological trigger trips. So why devote more space to it? The 328i gets 17-18 mpg in the city, 25-28 mpg on the highway and 20-21 mpg combined, depending on the body style and drivetrain. Bought a new 2009 in May 2011. It was a dealer car that had been unsold. Although not designed for fuel efficiency, it returns 30mpg on the highway on usual basis.
In the 335, twin turbochargers up the output to 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. Spectacular steering and braking round out an excellent overall driving experience. Competitors have improved, and some aspects of the 335i—its lofty price, the coldly impersonal cockpit with its meniscus-shaped dash and slightly old-fashioned displays—never pleased everyone. I sort of expected it was going to cost a lot once the warranty was up. The trunk was deep given the lack of spare and provided ample storage for a coupe. So, unless the family unit is made up oftiny people, one is going to have to upsize to the 5 Series or scopeout the competition. The convertible's available heat-reflective leather does a wonderful job of keeping occupants' posteriors cool.
Get this car on a well paved road, switch to sport mode and let it rip. The rear seats are adequately roomy for adults on shorter trips, but taller passengers will wish for more headroom. You can toss out every single diesel drawback you've ever heard. Instrument cluster is simple and attractive. All come in base rear-wheel-drive 328i trim, while the coupe, sedan and wagon also come in all-wheel-drive 328i xDrive guise.
The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 516,791. The total number of vehicles being recalled is now 516,791. I liked the right side mirror that tilts down when you place the car in reverse. The 2009 navigation is completely differe nt from the 2008. Interior styling puts the emphasis is on business, not glamour.
Revs fall quickly between shifts, a welcome change compared to the abnormal amount of time many of today's engines take. All gas-powered models come standard with a six-speed manual shifter, while a six-speed automatic is optional standard on the 335d. No one would know from hearing, feeling, driving, or smelling it. The335i is slightly sluggish off the line. Despite the extraavoirdupois of the all-wheel-drive system, the 335i tracks beautifullyin corners and shoots out of them aided by the extra grip provided byxDrive. The system has the technology to react to slip and transferpower in as little as 100 milliseconds, distributing engine outputcontinuously and variably between the front and rear axles. Although we thought this turbocharged 3.
Passing was always a breeze. All are admirable alternatives; however, none is good enough to knock the 3 Series from its traditional perch. There's a precise feel to the steering and the well-sorted suspension provides exceptional confidence through even the most challenging corners. So instead of taking the fun out of driving, all the technology added to my enjoyment. New for 2009 is the addition of a diesel-powered 3 Series, the 335d Sedan. After a split second of hesitation off the line, the engine yields a rush of power that is nothing less than intoxicating. I enjoyed driving this car; in the rain and adverse conditions this car offered incredible and confident road handling, great visibility and solid performance.
Of course, the 1-series gets you this engine for about the same price as a 328i coupe. It combines the desirable elements of an enthusiast's machine with the comfort and ease that make the daily commute, or the endless road trip, endurable, if not downright pleasant. Steeringand braking are both designed with the enthusiast driver in mind. Peak torque, 300 lb-ft, is on tap from 1400-5000 rpm. But watch the little print. I have a 335 with sports package, premium package and 20 inch wheels.
What's most impressive is the sensation behind the wheel, the ease of disposing the 5-20 mph shuffle of L. In addition to its more powerful engine, the 335i adds 17-inch wheels, xenon headlights and power front seats with driver memory. A relatively long wheelbase coupled with short front and rear overhangs, plus a slight wedge shape, gives the compact 3 Series a dynamic flair that reflects common styling cues with the larger 5 Series and 7 Series, elements that are further reinforced by the signature twin-kidney grilles. For now, however, the 335i xDrive is still theone to beat. The twin-turbo six just pours on seamlessly strong power across its rev range. The convertible offers a reasonable cargo hold when the hardtop is up, but it predictably shrinks considerably when the top is lowered.
As I was putting this car through its paces, I realized that I was driving a street car that would be the envy of any of those race car drivers from the past, and the performance of the 335i would have been more than enough to win those early races. The connector for the positive battery cable connector and the corresponding terminal on the fuse box may degrade over time. With 300 horsepower and the equivalent number in pound-feet oftorque to tap into, there are more than sufficient ponies and grunt tomove the 1,730-kilogram sedan to speed in jiffy-quick time zero to 100kilometres an hour in 5. The clutch, which can feel light at first, offers the right feedback, while the shifter slots neatly into each cog. Despite its potent power plants, the 3 Series remains relatively fuel-efficient. Interim letters were mailed on November 27, 2017.
All that power is put to the pavement via a 6-speed manual transmission an automatic, with paddle shifters is available that shifts as finely as a Swiss watch. The standard front seats have enough firm support to ward off fatigue during a day's worth of driving, while the optional power-adjustable sport seats are sublimely comfortable. The clutch, which can feel light at first, offers the right feedback, while the shifter slots neatly into each cog. I tend to keep a car for a long time and drive lots of miles, but believe in preventative maintenance. The navigation system itself is now hard-drive-based and features real-time traffic information.
