I was going to just swap out the engine but I was told that you had to go back with a 2002 engine because that is the only year they used that particular engine. I would say stick to explorer 4. So that said it might be better to get somebody to rebuild the engine. Make sure you fill to the max line then turn the car on for about 5 seconds and check again. My advice is to either call the dealer or start with 4 quarts run car for about a minute than let sit for about a m … inute and check again. And that actually turned out to be the quickest time ever recorded for these. That's a hell of a steal for that truck.

. I've had two timing chain failures 94 sonoma2. Biggest issues are that the 02-04 aluminum block has bosses in the valley for 2 knock sensors, other 4. If the replacement heads do not have the boss tapped you'll need to tap it. Bought it for the sum of 700. Clean and inspect the mating surfaces. The conditions were great for acceleration runs.
